Beyond being a very dear friend of mine, Marina De Chiara is an Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Naples “L’Orientale,” where she has taught for many years. Notably, she was one of the youngest Italian associate professors of English Literature.
The book originated from a discussion Marina De Chiara and I held at the Women’s Archive Center of the University of Naples “L’Orientale.” We found ourselves in fundamental agreement on various epistemological issues, but—above all—on the discrimination the Humanities typically face in the research world compared to the so-called “hard” sciences.
