My new book: “Il Blog Di Ciro Discepolo VOLUME VI”. The book is in Italian, but many pages are in English and, moreover, even if today Amazon Kindle readers do not yet support the automatic translation function in all languages, I know that it is possible, with them, to select about 10 lines at a time of each page and obtain the translation. In my opinion this book (and the others in the same series) is important because the Reader will be able to find inside it, many practical answers to as many questions of the blog’s visitors.
The cover photo is mine.

Dear Ciro
I would like to ask your view on the health situation of Pope Francis. He is a Sagittarius which will suffer the transit of Saturnus squared to the Sun firstly in April and then in October. His solar return in Rome is bad with a stellium in the first house including saturnus and pluto. Pluto is in congiuntion at the ascendant and therefore also in 12. Also the rest of the solar return is not favorable. Considering his age I am worried. How do you read his solar return and his transits.?
Vipsania
Dear Vipsania,
I don’t know if you or others have done any research to verify whether the birth time you cite is credible or not. If it were true at least as a rounding, I would think (I’m looking at it for the first time) that the Pope was probably born a few minutes earlier, enough to have – approximately – Jupiter radix in the cusp of the sixth/seventh House, which would also explain the support of the stars in his election to the throne of Peter.
But these are conjectures and not certainties. I am a little surprised that you talk to me about the transit of Saturn when I know for sure that you have understood very well that transits can do little or nothing compared to the enormous value of the SR/LR put together. I know that every now and then some astrologer with little experience claims that transits are very important, but there is a very simple way to establish it: I have published many hundreds of cases of dating of events in which I have been able to demonstrate the fundamental paradigms of my school; whoever believes that things go the other way, could publish not hundreds of cases of famous people, as I did, but at least twenty or thirty. You will see that if you invite them to do this, these Sunday astrologers will be absent from social media for a few weeks …
But let’s get back to the Pope.
In his last SR erected for Rome, we find two major violations of the 34 rules: three stars in the first House and three stars between the twelfth and the first House, with Pluto theoretically at zero degrees from the Ascendant.
This, as you know, means possible serious health problems.
Then, and I am a little surprised that you, who are quite good at Active Astrology, have not noticed, the Lunar Return in progress is thrilling: Mars in the twelfth House, 11th cusp; three stars, with Saturn and Neptune, in the 8th House; four stars, with Pluto and the Sun, in the sixth House. Practically four very serious violations of the 34 rules!
Obviously, all of this, read in the logic of Nonna Papera or the “oroscopara della Ciociaria”, makes you grow and therefore is also good for your health. But fortunately we are not visually impaired.
Now, even the next LR that will begin on February 26 is quite worrying, having the same Mars close to the Descendant and therefore also Mars in the sixth House. However, if my hypothesis of a birth to be anticipated by more than 15 minutes was correct, the next LR would not be worrying at all and therefore would act as a watershed in this truly alarming situation.
That is, we have two hypotheses: if the Pontiff was born earlier, then, overcoming these few very bad days, from the 26th onwards he should have a recovery. Otherwise, the next 28 and a half days would also be high risk, but for everything except Saturn in quadrature to the Sun.
It must also be said, and it does not seem like a small detail to me, that the Pope is certainly treated very well, at the highest levels of medicine and this, compared to any other citizen, represents an additional asset that can really make the difference.
Dear Ciro,
I would like to ask you for clarification regarding the second house. We know, thanks to you, that this, in addition to finances (which make it bistable) is also related to the visibility and image of the subject. Speaking generally, could we use it as an alternative to the eleventh? Let me explain better : the subject wants to have more social life, but you cannot increase the 11th in the rs : could a 2a/5a combo help, without being a perfect equivalent ?
The 11th, as you taught us is an exceptional house when it is well marked, but unfortunately you can’t always have everything in sr.
Thank you
In my life I have often used the second House to give greater visibility to men and women who had little visibility, even though they were interesting from the point of view of possible destiny encounters. In some cases I have also obtained marriages, combining the second and tenth House or the second and seventh House. This is a path that can be attempted, but – of course – we are not certain of the result given that this chapter of our life is, perhaps, the most difficult to manage.
Dear Ciro,
Your answer far exceeds my question and I thank you for your generosity. I was referring, more modestly, to finding a valid substitute for the eleventh house (which is a very useful house, as you have always taught us) when we cannot increase it. What you say about the interactions of the second house with the other houses is very interesting. And only a refined and intelligent observer like you could have done it.
As you point out rs should be conceived as a system in which houses interact with each other and that therefore it is absolutely necessary to know what you want to do when thinking about a targeted birthday
I learnt something today too 🙂 thank you very much!
Dear Master
My friend born April 24, 1963 in Montreal
at 5:55 a.m. can he protect his health by going to Tokyo for its solar revolution (the sun is close to VI).
What do you recommend?
Thank you very much for your help.
Dear Dominique, I don’t think Tokyo is good since there we would have the Sun, Uranus and the AS in the 6th House cusp. Going to Fairbanks, therefore staying in the North American continent, your friend can get Jupiter exactly on the Descendant which will protect his health, work and business relationships a lot.
Dear Ciro Thanks for the marvellous lesson of astrology!
Vipsania
Dear Master,
I was born on February 21, 1959 at 7:40 a.m. in Sorgues.
I got stuck in Happy Valley Goose Bay for my sister because of the weather disturbances…I couldn’t go up to Davis Inlet.
I think it’s good for health but not for the couple.
Yours sincerely
Dear Dominique, I wrote it already in my first books of the Seventies: it is absolutely necessary to reach the place of the birthday, at least three-four days before the return, especially if you go to cold and difficult to reach places. Unfortunately only a few people listen to me on this item.
Thank you very much dear Master!
error in thé text not for m’y sister but for my rs
I am sory it’s Solar Révolution not sister
Dear Ciro,
I need advice for my lunar revolution for August 7, 2025.
The one for Catania involves a stellium between 1st and 12th.
I had thought of spending it in Almeria in Spain to put Jupiter and Venus in the ascendant, but Saturn enters 10th. Can we accept that or is it better to change destination?
These are my birth data
9 Marzo 1983 – Paternò (CT) h 7:35 am
Dear Alberto, I have three different birth dates for you, 2 for March 9 and 1 for March 8, with three different birth times: 7.28, 7.35 and 7.50. You understand that if we use a completely wrong time to begin with, we will almost certainly have a wrong result from our study.
I urge you to take this into account.
In our case, remember that for a LR it is possible to disobey one of the 34 rules, but not one of those like Mars in the 12th House…
So, if we wanted to proceed starting from the LR you describe in Spain, we should make these corrections: 1) Make Venus go down lower than the AS so that it does not work in the cusp and give us evidence in affections; 2) Do not make the Sun fall in the 1st House; 3) Avoid Uranus falling in the 12th House; 4) We can accept 3 stars in 1st House
With these guidelines, we get Porth Elizabeth, South Africa. However, I realize that this is a challenging journey and at this point, you can decide whether or not to accept the ugly Saturn in 10th House. This depends a lot on the SR and also how many LR’s you have targeted this year.
Best wishes.
master serious illnesses, accidents etc. of pets
are included in the bad solar revolutions (with violation of the rules) of the owners or can it also happen with good revolutions of the owners, since the bad one is that of the animals? Thanks
In a bad ASR, even our pets can be protagonists because those who live with pets consider them as members of their family.
Dear Ciro,
I am writing to ask you for help, because I can’t find a right place for the RSM 2025 for a dear friend of mine who is not well: he has pulmonary emphysema (I’m sorry he can’t stop smoking). Renzo was born on 17 June 1952 at h. 8:20, in Grosseto. Unfortunately, I only found one acceptable place in Mexico (Hermosillo) +5 (IPA), where Venus is on the cusp between the 6th and the 7th.
Thanks a lot.
A hug
Maria Stella
Dear Maria Stella, the choice of Hermosillo is the right one, wanting to prioritize the health of your friend. I remind you that I codified the Danger Index of the Year when I had not yet written down all 34 rules for aiming for a Solar Return (and a Lunar Return), but when, instead, I did it, it was no longer necessary to know the IPA.
Dearest Ciro,
first of all thank you for your help. In the previous post I was referring to the ‘new IPA’, present on the website ‘astrologiainlinea.it’. I know the 34 rules, but I check this calculation often too. Then it happened that the choices were made based on the 34 rules and not on the IPE calculations (how to place Jupiter in the 12th, for example, even if the IPE result did not give an important value).
A hug and many thanks again.
Maria Stella
Dear Maria Stella,
well: I don’t know what you call “New IPA” because it is not my creation, but I confirm that your choice of ASR is good.
Dear Ciro,
I would like to ask you a question about elective astrology. This summer there will be a marvellous Jupiter/Venus conjunction in Cancer, under which, with a good sr, one could start things, at least I think so. I am looking for a propitious time on our longitudes, putting the conjunction at mc. I found Milan 11 August 2025 at 11h04. However, I see that mars is less than 12 degrees from asc, in the Gauquelin area. Would this make the elective chart caducous ? and, if so, would it be better to place the conjunction to the Ac /dc ?
For the Ac I found Milan 11 August 2025 3h24 (but besides the unusual time, there is a Saturn conjunct the Mc from the 10th…), while for the Dc Milan 11 August 2025 18h43….
Could you give us your valuable advice?
Thank you
Yes, Margherita, they seem like good solutions to me. Remember, however, that the AS and the MC are much more powerful than the other two angles and that the Houses, in Elective Astrology, do not exist and therefore Saturn is not in the tenth House in the sky of Milan erected for 3.24. Furthermore, it is very far from the MC and is also on the “wrong side” respect to the MC. Whether it is a commercial enterprise or the beginning of a new job, I would choose the conjunction of Jupiter and Venus at zero degrees Ascendant which is the most powerful in an absolute sense. Furthermore, precisely because the subject is not us, but the “creature” that is being born, it does not matter if it also has a very light sub-dominant Mars: Mars as a sub-dominant can be excellent for a project that needs a lot of energy.
Thank you Ciro for all this precision! I hope readers will be able to make the best use of the indications you have given (adjusting them to their latitudes, of course).
Indeed, as you point out in your work on elective astrology, the descendant is much less powerful as an angle, but since I had a doubt about that Mars, I took the liberty of submitting alternatives.
Still regarding the placement of the red planet, you say: ‘precisely because the subject is not us, but the “creature” that is being born, it does not matter if it also has a very light sub-dominant Mars’. If the election of the moment concerns an event of a personal nature (an engagement, a wedding), would it be OK?
Thank you!
No, it’s not good for an engagement or a wedding.
– Can sun in 11th means the death of the subject?
– Can sun and stellium in the First house of solar return mean physical problem for parents or only for the subject?
– Yes, the Sun in the 11th House, in the SR or in the LR, can also mean the death of the subject, but considering the probability calculation: in the life of a subject this position can also occur 100 or 200 or 300 times and each of us dies only once, so we have one probability against 300. I would say that it is a very low probability.
– The Sun or a stellium in the first House of a Solar Return can mean a health problem of the subject’s parents: the subject will be ill and this could depend, in addition to illnesses, also on pains in the soul and therefore be related to health problems of the parents, but also of a child or partner. This also applies to the sixth and twelfth Houses. I told you about that stupid man to whom I had predicted a year of serious health problems with the Sun in the sixth House: even today he would like to argue that instead it was the fact that his woman left him: but I had read him the chapter about the Sun in the sixth House in my book “Transiti and Rivoluzioni Solari” and that event was among those contemplated. This is due to the fact that there is none so deaf as he who does not want to listen.
in 11 RS is the sun the most significant planet as “subject death”? if not, which planet? thanks
There are many significators of death in a SR: the Mars-Saturn conjunction in the 11th, the Mars-Saturn conjunction in the 8th, a stellium in the 11th, a stellium in the 8th, a stellium in the 4th (the “change of domicile”), but also Jupiter joined to the MC (if a person has been suffering for a long time) and many more positions…
Good morning Ciro and everyone,
I would like to ask a precision concerning mercury in the tenth house. Could this placement mean good fortune in writings in good sr/lr ? Could we consider it an equivalent of Jupiter in the third house?
Thank you
No, I would say absolutely not.
Dear Master Discepolo,
I would like to ask you about the organisation of the birthday trip. If we have a good sr in progress, do you think this makes it easier to go on the next sr? I remember the first year when I started doing the targeted trips, the sr in progress was negative and in fact I had difficulty leaving even though I had taken several days in advance as you indicate, but I was determined and in the end I did my first targeted return. But I have to say that every year I am always very worried about not being able to leave for whatever reason. Congratulations on my astral
Yes, Maria, it is like this: if we want to have a good year with minimal problems, we must put the “band of Mars, Saturn & Co.” between the third and ninth House. This, when we leave for the next return, will give us problems in traveling, but by anticipating our trip, we will succeed with our target.
